ALL PARADE PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER!
WALK UPS ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO WALK IN PARADE WITHOUT REGISTERING.

FOR SPACE AND NOISE CONTROL AN ENTRY IS NOW DEFINED AS:
  • UP TO TWO MOTOR VEHICLES (please indicate in your registration the number of vehicles and if you will have a trailer).
  • MOTORCYCLE CLUB (please indicate in your registration how many will be coming. Motorcycles MUST proceed through the parade route in two-three columns).
  • EQUESTRIAN GROUP (please indicate in your registration if horses are single, in a team, or pulling a wagon/carriage).
  • WALKER AND PEDAL BICYCLE AMOUNTS ARE UNLIMITED.
  • COLOR GUARD (no charge)
  • VETERAN GROUP (no charge)
  • EMERGENCY RESPONDERS (no charge)
  • MARCHING & COMMUNITY BANDS/CHORAL GROUP, DRILL TEAMS (please indicate in your registration the number of people you expect and if you are bringing a vehicle and trailer). (no charge)

DIVISIONS AND CATEGORIES FOR ENTRIES
 
DIVISION A - JUDGED
Categories:
  • Classic or Antique cars (Model Year 1941 or older)
  • Marching Groups, Drill Teams, or Bands
  • Horse Riding Group/or Horse Drawn Wagon or Carriage
  • Unique (strolling acts, mini cars, trick ropers etc.)
Division A Awards:
Awarded by the NW Montana Fair & Rodeo.   A check will be mailed to the address provided on the entry form.
1st: Trophy, Rosette and $75.00
2nd: Rosette and $50.00
3rd: Rosette and $25.00
4th: Rosette
 
DIVISION B JUDGED
Categories:
  • Youth float: for organizations representing youth (4-H, Boy Scouts, FFA, or any other youth group)
  • Non-commercial float: representing non-commercial, nonprofit, and service organizations.
  • Commercial float: representing commercial businesses and groups.
Division B Awards:
Awarded by the NW Montana Fair & Rodeo.   A check will be mailed to the address provided on the entry form.
1st: Trophy, Rosette and $125.00
2nd: Rosette and $100.00
3rd: Rosette and $75.00
4th: Rosette

DIVISION C NOT JUDGED: These categories are welcomed, enjoyed, but will not receive an award.

  • Political
  • Veteran Groups
  • Emergency & Government Services 
JUDGING CRITERIA FOR ALL DIVISIONS & CATEGORIES 
  1. Theme 1-30 points.  Judges will look be looking for a consistent overall theme within the float itself. This portion of the judging is not in reference to the theme of the parade.
  2. Overall appearance 1-30 points.   A float should flow together and be balanced.  Judges will observe the overall construction, design, and detail.
  3. Originality & Creativity 1-30 points.    Judges will be looking for original or creative use of decorations.
  4. Best Fair Theme 1-10 points.  Judges will be looking for the parade's theme designed into the theme of the float.
Possible total points 100 points
 
Note: 10 points deducted for undecorated tow vehicle.

 
Location:
Lineup for participating floats will start at the Flathead High School parking lot and run East on 8th Street West.

Parade starts at 10am in Downtown Kalispell!
Date/Time Information:

Line-up for judged entries begins at 7:45am; judging will begin at 8:15am.

Line-up for non-judged entries will begin at 9:30am.


All participants should be lined up by 9:45am.

The parade begins at 10:00AM!

Fees/Admission:
DUE TO RISING COSTS, THERE IS A $20 REGISTRATION FEE PER ENTRY.

Your place will only be guaranteed if your fee is received along with your clear and complete application.

 
Refunds: An application is a commitment to the event. Any cancelations must be received 72 hours prior to the event; otherwise you will be charged for the entry. No refunds will be issued for any entry canceled within 72 hours of the start of the parade.

REGISTRATION CLOSES WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9 AT 5PM.
