Description
The small chamber orchestra moves forward in music history to perform repertoire from the Romantic and 20th-century eras of music - the charmingly pastoral Siegfried Idyll by the great 19th-century German opera composer Richard Wagner and the Neo-Baroque masterpiece of ballet music from the early twentieth century, Igor Stravinsky's Pulcinella Suite, derived from music by the Baroque composer Pergolesi. New York-based Polish violinist and GSC and Festival Amadeus veteran soloist, King Augustyn, will be the featured soloist in the evocative and technically demanding Violin Concerto No. 2 in d minor by 19th-century polish composer and virtuoso violinist Henryk Wieniawski. Ms. Augustyn will conclude our "Beethoven birthday bash" by performing Beethoven's Romance No. 1 for Violin and Orchestra.
