For Adults
Make

Try your hand at print making, play to bring out your inner child and think more seriously about what skills make a maker. Cap it all off with Making Montana, a two-day event celebrating making and 21stcentury skills. It’s all about Making, with a capital M, this winter at ImagineIF Libraries. 

Ribbon Cutting
Rip and cut surveyor’s tape to build from the ground up. Elevate this everyday material into an art installation. Resulting in a sensory experience, this zone is especially designed for those ages 6 and up, including adults. January 7-18

Trivia @ the Brewery
Enjoy trivia night every Monday at the brewery, with trivia questions provided by ImagineIF Libraries. Put your brain to the test! Kalispell Brewing Company - Mondays, 6-8 p.m.  

Friends of the Library Book Club
The Friends book group meets the second Tuesday of the month in the meeting room at ImagineIF Kalispell, September through June. All are invited to join the discussion.
Next month’s selection: Grant by Ron Chernow. In his masterful biography, Ron Chernow provides a comprehensive understanding of the general and president Ulysses S. Grant, whose fortunes rose and fell with dizzying speed and frequency. ImagineIF Kalispell Meeting Room, February 12, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

ONGOING WEEKLY EVENTS

Footloose Friends
Sing, dance, read and explore while also building social and emotional skills. This fun and interactive class is for toddlers and preschoolers who love to move! Bring your sense of fun for the included messy and sensory play that helps prepare children for future learning success. Caregiver participation encouraged. (ages 2-4) Tuesdays, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Super Scholars
With a special emphasis on independence and a focus on longer stories, listening, and taking turns, preschoolers in this class will gain skills they need for kindergarten success. Sessions will also include fun songs, movement and basic literacy concepts, as well as math and science exploration. (ages 4-5) Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Early Explorers
Share smiles, stories, rhymes and more at this entertaining and interactive class for infants and toddlers and their caregivers. Rhythm and repetition form a foundation for learning by strengthening language connections in the brain. Participants will also learn fun techniques for using books, songs, and rhymes at home. (birth to age 2) Thursdays, 11-11:30 a.m.

For Teens

Anime Club
Anime and manga otaku unite! Come together to watch anime, eat popcorn, discuss manga and meet other fans. Open to teens in grades 6-12. Showing this month: Naruto. January 10, 4-5:30 p.m.

Teen Social: Maker Lab
Local high school and middle school students are invited to meet at the library. Discuss your favorite books and enjoy gaming on our Wii and awesome new tools, free food and a chill atmosphere. Join us this month for Electric Style: “fashion” functioning circuits with conductive thread and minute LEDs, creating a one-of-a-kind illuminated accessory. January 24, 4-5:30 p.m.
