Position Title:                                    Project Manager
Organizational Relationships:         Reports to VP of IT
Supervisory Responsibilities:           None
General Function:
Leads and manages strategic and technical projects under the guidance of the WCU Steering Committee.  Develop full-scale project plans, build and support teams of needed resources and manage complex, cross-functional projects to an on budget and timely completion. Responsible for the overall success or the project. Acts as a lead to the Project Management team.
Position Functions:

  • Defines project scope, goals and deliverables, both as necessitated by both day-to-day operations, and as supported by strategic initiatives established by the Steering Committee
  • Develops full-scale project plans and associated documents for small to large, technical and non-technical projects
  • Consults with technical or functional experts at all levels to ensure thorough requirements are captured.
  • Identifies and leads opportunities for project improvements
  • Manages project dependencies and critical paths
  • Establishes and applies WCU methodology and standards to both projects and them self
  • Tracks all project tasks, milestones and deliverables
  • Responsible for managing relationships throughout the organization including all project team members, business contributors, stakeholders, and executive management
  • Proactively mitigate risks and issues
  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and Board/Steering presentations
  • Drives the creation and ensures the completion of all project documents and tasks, from concept to project close
  • Adheres to all Whitefish Credit Union policies and procedures
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
  • Mastered the ability to manage all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Ability and willingness to align Project Management goals with larger organizational strategies
  • Proven and strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess strong analytical and leadership skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisor, president / CEO, members, volunteers, and Senior Management Team
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, multitask and oversee multiple simultaneous projects
Required Education and Experience:
  • College degree in Project Management or sufficient and related work experience
  • 5+ years of similar or related experience leading and directing project teams to deliver projects within the constraints of the project specifications required.
  • PMP Certification required, or candidate must be willing and able to study and sit for the exam within 12 months of filling the role.
  • Information technology project experience preferred
  • Previous credit union or banking experience preferred
  • Previous Symitar Episys and JHA systems experience a plus
