Flathead Food Bank has touched the lives of people over 70,000 times in 2016 through our hunger relief programs! As a nonprofit, we simply could not do the amazing work we do through the power of food without the incredible support of our community, YOU.
It is the mission of Flathead Food Bank to provide emergency food, basic clothing and household goods to members of our community in need of temporary assistance. How can members of your organization help us to achieve our mission in 2017?
+ Host a food drive! In 2016, we distributed 1,546,881 pounds of food, that's almost 30,000 pounds of food per week!
+ Host a fund drive! Your donations allow us to purchase food; peanut butter, tuna, milkand other nutritious food items during non-holiday times of the year when food donations are low and needs are high.
+ Volunteer! We have over 20 volunteer opportunities that you, your family, or your small groups can serve-for one or multiple times, or on a regular schedule. We'll connect you with the perfect opportunity!
+ Donate to and shop at Second Helpings Thrift Store! Not only do we employ people from our community who need jobs, we turn the dollars you spend into food! Also, groups can sponsor a Saturday shopping day, raising funds for your special cause and for us! 25% of the sales you help to generate, you keep!
+ Schedule a tour of Flathead Food Bank or a presentation on hunger for your organization! Did you know that 18% of the population in Northwest Montana experience hunger people who live in our neighborhoods. Why? What is the impact on our community? What steps can the members of your organization take to join the fight against hunger? Many topics to ponder discuss and create action; because hunger is a solvable problem.
Lastly, if you know of someone who is struggling with hunger, please encourage them to come and see us. They will be treated with confidence, kindness, respect and love.
Thank you for your time, please call or email me with questions, comments, to take action, or to help us create intentional results through the power of food.
Because, no one should ever be hungry!
