Flathead Valley Healthcare Update
Kevin Abel, Co-CEO Billings Clinic – Logan Health and President, Logan Health Medical Center will provide an update on the state of health care in the Flathead Valley, focusing on key achievements, challenges, and future plans, including integration activities with Billings Clinic. Co-CEO Billings Clinic – Logan Health and President, Logan Health Medical Center and Logan Health – Whitefish
Kevin Abel joined Logan Health – Whitefish in 2018, coming to the organization from Lake Chelan Community Hospital and Clinics in Chelan, Washington, where he served as chief executive officer. In addition to his role in Whitefish, he was named President of Logan Health Medical Center in 2021, and since that time has provided leadership over Logan Health’s Flathead Valley services, including the 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, the 220-bed medical center, a 110-bed skilled nursing facility, more than 68 outpatient clinics and a 25,000 square foot medical fitness center.
Most recently Abel was appointed Co-CEO of the unified Billings Clinic – Logan Health along with Billings Clinic CEO Clint Seger, MD, and will collaboratively lead the two organizations toward integration, creating greater opportunities to provide an elevated level of health care across Montana, Wyoming and the northern Dakotas.
With more than 25 years in health care, Abel’s experience spans health care finance, quality, facilities, human resources, marketing, contract negotiations, board relations and strategic planning. His leadership philosophy includes fostering an environment of respect and collaboration by developing positive relationships with providers, caregivers and business partners. In his free time, Abel and his family enjoy hiking, skiing, fishing and all the outdoors has to offer.
