You are invited to a community celebration for the Kalispell Parkline Linear Park & Trail! Celebrate the completion of this huge project, the history of Kalispell, and more.
Celebrate with downtown Kalispell businesses and activities for all.

10:00 - 5pm check out Kalispell: Montana’s Eden 

Kalispell: Montana’s Eden tells the fascinating story of this thriving city, from  the railroad’s arrival up to the present day. This exhibition is at the Northwest Montana History Museum and admission is free all day


12:00 - 5pm Plein Air on the Parkline!

Visitors will have the unique opportunity to observe professional local en plein air artists painting live, outdoors along the trail. Visitors can stop and observe the artists and ask questions about their process and work! Artists will be stationed at various points on the downtown trail. PLUS the Hockaday Museum is admission free during the day!


3pm talk about Charles Conrad

Meet Brit Clark at the new plaque on the eastern side of the Parkline trail by the BNSF train locomotive. A Montana pioneer and businessman, Charles E. Conrad made his fortune as a Fort Benton freighter and trader on the banks of the Missouri River. Charles’ relationship with James J. Hill brought the Great Northern Railway to the area, connecting Kalispell to the modern era and transforming the tiny settlement into the business and tourism hub we know today. Bri Clark is the director of the Conrad Mansion Museum. PLUS the Conrad Home Museum too is open during the day for those who want to learn more about the Conrads!


1:00 & 2:30 Tunnel Vision Mural Tour

Public art is a great opportunity along the Parkline. Join Alisha Shiling (Kalico) and Kip Smith (Rails to Trails) to discuss discuss public art partnerships, and then take a Kalispell Trolley to view a newly finished Tunnel Vision mural on the Rails to Trails by Lone Pine State Park and then view other downtown mural projects that Kalico has helped organize. The tour will end at Bias Brewery with a complimentary beer. Space limited to the two trolleys and first come first serve.


2:00 - 5:00pm ImagineIF Library Kids activities in Depot Plaza

Join the ImagineIF Librarians as they celebrate exploring the Parkline with hopscotch, obstacle courses and kids activities outside the Kalispell Chamber Depot office.


3:00 - 5:00pm  Park it with CRY-J on the Parkline!

CRY-J will set up a station for teenager activities on Market Street. Come hang with their staff and volunteers, join in community building activities and learn about their upcoming community mural project!


4:00pm  Kiddie Parade down the Parkline!

Celebrate and explore the Parkline with family. Children encouraged to bring their bikes, striders, wagons or baby stroller to go down the Parkline above Woodland Park. 

 

5:30pm – Formal Ribbon Cutting

Presentation of the Colors, Remarks by dignitaries out in the Parkline Linear Park Plaza (in between Main St. and 1st Ave) north of the Depot Park.
