The Flathead Area Young Professionals invite you to come enjoy an after-work event with a successful BOSS in the Valley. This quarter, we will be having beer with Joe Kola, President of Stockman Bank. Drinks and appetizers will be provided! 🍻

Meet the Boss- Joe Kola:
“I attended primary school at THE Cornelius Hedges Elementary and graduated from Flathead High in 1994. I graduated from Flathead Valley Community College in 1995, then took its business foundation courses before transferring to the University of Montana in the fall of 1999, the year I started on the teller line at First Interstate Bank (FIB) and thus embarking on my career in banking. I completed my bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in finance and minor in economics. I followed that with an MBA through UM’s business school.

After college I became a credit analyst in the commercial loan department at FIB and learned to “crunch the numbers", evaluate credit worthiness, and structure commercial loans which was an invaluable experience. My career track then saw me become a commercial loan officer before leading a commercial team, before leading a market as its president. The path from teller to president was an 18-year journey. In July 2022 I accepted a role as the Flathead Market President for Stockman Bank after 21 years and 10 months with FIB.

I’m married to Tracy and we have 14-year old identical twin boys attending Glacier High. We enjoy all the classic, year-round, outdoor things most Montanans do. I enjoy reading non-fiction and remain committed to exercising as a primary stress reliever.”
