Tuesday, May 16, 2023 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (MDT)

Description

2023 May Business Matters Chamber Luncheon - Building a Resilient Community. How Tourism is Part of the Solution.

May is the kickoff to the busy travel season. Learn about the state of the local travel industry and what’s in the forecast for 2023 and beyond. And while there is no doubt about tourism’s importance to our local economy, we also know there are challenges that come with it. The ability for visitors to get from the airport to the cities and to Glacier National Park through a transportation system is important to reduce traffic congestion during the busy season. Effective transportation systems are also critical for local work force and residents year-round. A panel of experts will discuss ground transportation in the Flathead Valley – the current situation and challenges and what are potential solutions for an interconnected system.

Speakers:
Bryce Baker, Board Chair - Tourism Business Improvement District
Kyle Waterman, panel moderator, former Transportation Advisory Council member
Dave Rohmer, Superintendent, Glacier National Park
Elizabeth Wood, Director, Flathead County Public Transportation
