Glacier Collision Worx is a locally owned collision repair facility dedicated to quality craftsmanship, honest service, and exceptional customer care. We are looking for a dependable, motivated Auto Body Paint Prep Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles, trim, glass, and components to protect against overspray.
  • Apply primer and assist with surface preparation.
  • Sand and prep repaired areas using hand and power sanding equipment.
  • Remove and reinstall trim, lights, moldings, and other components as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assist painter as needed and maintain workflow.
  • Perform quality inspections on panels and repaired surfaces for imperfections and final preparation before moving vehicles into the paint booth.
  • Remove and reinstall moldings, lights, mirrors, door handles, emblems, and other trim as needed.
  • Mix and apply primer, primer surfacer, and sealers according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Block sand primer to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Maintain paint preparation tools and equipment.
  • Keep the prep area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Follow all safety requirements and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.  
  • Assist with color sanding, buffing, polishing, and final detailing when needed.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous auto body, paint prep, or collision repair experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual.
  • Knowledge of sanding techniques, masking procedures, primers, and surface preparation.
  • Ability to use DA sanders, blocks, grinders, and other body shop tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with waterborne paint systems.
  • I-CAR training or ASE certification (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge of OEM repair procedures.
  • Experience disassembling and reassembling vehicle components.
