Glacier National Park Provides Updates on Reopening Areas of the Park After Flooding
WEST GLACIER, Mont. [June 30, 2026] – Glacier National Park anticipates reopening Going-to-the-Sun Road this evening and the Many Glacier Valley tomorrow morning, after heavy rainfall caused significant flooding across Glacier National Park.
Going-to-the-Sun Road
Visitors can expect Going-to-the-Sun Road to open in its entirety tonight, June 30.
2026 Logan Pass Shuttle and Parking
As a reminder both the Logan Pass Shuttle system and the three-hour timed parking at Logan Pass will begin tomorrow, July 1.
Complete information on the Logan Pass Shuttle and the limited three-hour parking at Logan Pass can be found online at Visiting Logan Pass in 2026.
Many Glacier
The Many Glacier Valley was temporarily closed to the public to ensure visitor safety during ongoing flooding in the area. The Many Glacier Hotel and Swiftcurrent Motor Inn will be open for guest check-in and visitor services tomorrow.
All trails in the Many Glacier Valley remain closed until further notice. The Many Glacier Campground will also remain closed until conditions are safe for reopening. The campground is projected to reopen for camping on July 2 if conditions allow. Public boating and AIS inspections in the valley are temporarily suspended due to unsafe conditions caused by submerged logs and debris. Commercial services in the valley offering guided boat tours and horseback trail rides are also suspended pending conditions.
Water Safety
Visitors are reminded to watch their surroundings near water. Swift, cold glacial streams and rivers, slick rocks and slippery logs all present dangers. Never walk, play, or climb on slippery rocks and logs, especially around waterfalls. Visitors should expect rivers and streams to remain high with swiftly flowing water.
